Vyapam (MPPEB) whistleblower Prashant Pandey’s car overturned after being hit by a truck on Indore-Mhow road late last night. Pandey’s wife and other family members sustained injuries in the incident.
Incidentally the incident took place under the area of same police station –Rajendra nagar—in which first FIR of Vyapam scam was lodged.
Pandey along with his family was coming from Mhow towards Indore late last night after attending a function. The family was traveling in two separate vehicles. “A rashly driven truck first overtook the car I was driving and later overtook my wife’s car from left side,” Pandey told News18.
“The truck dashed my wife’s car and it upturned and was dragged for around 40 feet,” he added. His father and other family members on board the car sustained injuries in the incident which took place close to Omex hills around 35 km from Indore.
Pandey had swapped cars just before the incident with his wife as the headlight of the car driven by her wife was not working.
Pandey informed the police control at 2.15am and the police suggested to take the injured to Choithram hospital as the family was proceeding towards Bombay hospital.
However no police personnel contacted the family afterwards, Pandey claimed, adding that he had handed an application at Rajendra nagar police station on Thursday afternoon. However no one was seriously hurt in the accident.
Though the Vyapam whistle blower did not accuse anyone in the incident but he did not rule out possibility of conspiracy in the mishap. “An empty truck running on roads after midnight creates doubt,” he said, adding that two policemen posted to his family’s security are missing without intimation for 15 days.
Perhaps the policemen got the idea of my family schedule and disappeared, Pandey claimed, alleging that Rajendranagar police even claimed that a cow was hit by my car and tried to register a case against me.
Pradeep Bakshi, thana in charge of Rajendra nagar police station talking to News18 said that an application was received from Prashant Pandey in the afternoon and he was yet to discuss the matter with him.

Baby Halder, who chose to be a single parent and walked out on her marriage to escape her abusive husband is now a renowned name in the literary world. She spends her day as a domestic help and devotes her nights to writing. Her literary journey so far has paved for her the path to different literary fests around the world where she is often invited as one of the distinguished guests to speak about her books and tyrannies which were initially written as a vent to her hardships and became the best sellers afterwards.
